My grandmother used to have this map of the world, with pins for every place she had visited. I used to stare at those pins crowding every corner of the globe, and daydream about her adventures. I knew that I too wanted to visit those places, and fill my own map. At this point, I have lived in ten different states by my quarter-century birthday, and have just begun further satiating my wanderlust with travels. I have hung my hat in Detroit, LA, San Francisco, Austin, and much of the East Coast, and living in each have cemented them a special place in my heart (and on my future pin-filled map). My goal now is to see the rest of this beautiful world.
Wandering Chic is a place for me to share my wandering gypsy ways. From how to keep your style while living out of a suitcase (and fit fifteen totally necessary looks in a carryon!), to places totally worth seeing in your lifetime, and all of the random people, places and things I fall in love with along the way.
This post features images from a shoot I did with Marc Virata in one of my favorite places, the idyllic boardwalk in Santa Cruz, CA. Santa Cruz is an incredible little microcosm of a sleepy surfer town. Riding my beach cruiser to the beach, and enjoying all of the hip, independently owned shops & restaurants while living there will forever be a fond memory. If you get the chance to visit this gem in NorCal, DO IT!! Go north on Highway 1 to see the break at famous surf spot Mavericks, have a beer (and a crepe!) at The Crepe Place, go see a show at The Catalyst, and enjoy being on island time. It is good for the soul.
My passion is to stay chic, stylish and poised–whether relaxing at home base, or on the road. I am SO excited to share my story with you!
