The name of my blog comes from my ingrained love for adventure & style. My grandmother used to have a map of the world, with pins for every place she had visited. She was divinely poised, effortlessly polished, and always so chic– with stories and souvenirs from every corner of the globe. I used to stare at those pins crowding every corner of the globe, and daydream about her adventures. I knew that I too wanted to visit those places, and fill my own map. At this point, I have lived in twelve different states, and have just begun satisfying my wanderlust with travels. I have hung my hat in Detroit, LA, San Francisco, Austin, and much of the East Coast. Living in each has cemented them a special place in my heart, giant map to follow.
Wandering Chic was launched as a fashion blog where I could burn off sartorial steam, but when the Rana Factory collapsed my world was rocked. After spending my early adult years working in the fashion industry in Los Angeles, I felt like I lost my identity after years of catwalk shows selling an overly fabricated fashion brand’s lifestyle/aesthetic. Not long after that, I lost my father to brain cancer and realized that the physical objects I had put so much of my time into meant nothing in the greater scheme of things.
I am passionate about mindful living, minimalism, ethical fashion choices and living a meaningful life. My father never had the chance to retire, and I will not live to repeat that. Life should be lived right now. I have a long way to go on my journey with minimalism, and I am thrilled to be sharing this journey with you all!
I write about cutting the crap, decluttering your life, and de-intensifying our over connected culture. I teach gals who are fed up with feeling frustrated, busy and overwhelmed how to prioritize and live the meaningful life they have always dreamed of. If you crave a French girl’s meticulously curated wardrobe, love the tiny house movement, are saving money to travel, or just wish you had more time with your friends and family– you’re my girl.
Whether it’s a digital detox, serious closet purge or a garage full of crap with no room for cars– I will teach you what it takes to be left with only people and things that bring value to your life. Everything you own should matter. Your time on this earth is best spent doing things you love, with people you care about.
I am passionate about helping people live a simple, meaningful life and am excited to share this journey with you. Together our lives will be simply beautiful.
